Thank you for all the well wishes and gifts, but it’s not MizMuze’s birfday…it’s the indie rock trio from Vermont, Happy Birthday!  Ridiculous name aside, the band is actually pretty good, and is made up of Kyle Thomas (aka King Tuff), Ruth Garbus, and Chris Weisman, who came together in 2008 to play a one-off show in their hometown of Brattleboro, Vermont.  Even though each band member has their individual side-projects, the three liked playing together so much that they performed a few more shows and are now signed to Sub Pop…Their self-titled debut album was released on 3/16/2010.

Song of the Day – Monday 4/19/2010 Avi Buffalo April 19, 2010

These Long Beach kids can rock—equal emphasis on the words ‘kids’ and ‘rock’ although they sound nothing like Kid Rock (thankfully).

Avi Buffalo began when lead vocalist and guitarist Avigdor (Avi) Zahner-Isenberg was in the 10th grade.  Now a legal adult, yet still in his teens, Avi Buffalo (the boy and the band) are ready to take on the world.

Their self-titled debut album is scheduled for release on 4/27/2010.  They are currently supporting Japandroids and will be opening for them on 4/23/2010 at The Independent in San Francisco and will return in July for a headlining gig.
