Damon Albarn, aka Blur frontman, Gorillaz‘ lead animated singer 2-D, MizMuze’s eternal crush, brought a notable crew to share the stage with him on Saturday 10/30/2010, when the Gorillaz came to Oakland’s Oracle Arena.  Guests included De La Soul, Bobby Womack, Yukimi Nagano of Little Dragon, members of the Syrian National Orchestra, and my personal favorite: Mick Jones and Paul Simonon of The Clash!

N.E.R.D opened up the show with their no-nonsense blend of rock, hip hop, and funk.  But once the Gorillaz hit the stage, the arena was transformed into costume theatre (especially since is was the night before Halloween), animated entertainment, and explosive sounds.
